The Vestal Museum is located in the original 1881 Vestal Train Station which was located on the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad near Main Street. It was in service from 1882 until 1959.
After the D.L.& W. station was closed, the Town purchased the building and moved to its current location, next to the Vestal Library on the Vestal Parkway, in 1972. The Town, with the help of the Vestal Historical Society, restored and refurbished the station for use as the Town Museum. The distinctive style of the building has been maintained and gently modified to provide gallery space for a variety of exhibits.
The Vestal Museum provides permanent and short term exhibits as well as educational programs for schools and the community.
